Obituary for Herbert Paul Haist Herbert Paul Haist, 69, of Rochester, Indiana and formerly of Mentone passed at 9:10 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on Aug 14, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio to Paul L. and Eva Mae (Loker) Haist. He was the city planner for Deadwood, South Dakota and worked on his ranch in Sundance, Wyoming. He was a graduate of Mentone High School 1967 and Michigan State University with his Associates Degree.

Then he graduated from South Dakota State University with his Bachelor Degree. He enjoyed living out west on his ranch and was an enthusiast of historic preservation. Survivors and place of residence: Mother – Eva Mae Haist – Rochester, Ind.

Brother – Randy Haist – Rochester, Ind. Niece –Meredith and husband Travis Adams – Mentone, Ind. Preceded in Death By: Father – Paul Haist (2016) Sister – Jacalyn Haist (2017) Infant Brother Following his wishes no services will be held at this time.
