Hilbert J. Sunita, age 80 of the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday morning, June 10, 2018. Hilbert was born on September 22, 1937 in the Town of Maine, Outagamie County as the son of the late Raymond and Adela (Krueger) Sunita. On August 12, 1961 Hilbert was united in marriage to Mary Ann Damrau at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville.

The couple farmed in the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County while Hilbert worked at Seagrave FWD in Clintonville for close to 30 years. Hilbert retired due to his declining health but still enjoyed helping his sons Glen & Greg on their farms. Mary Ann preceded Hilbert in death on March 16, 2007 and in 2009 Hilbert moved to Greg’s house to be closer to family.

He loved helping raise his granddaughters as they were his entire world. In his younger years Hilbert enjoyed playing softball. He was an avid outdoorsman in every sense of the word; hunting & fishing almost anything throughout his life.

One of his greatest joys was watching his granddaughter harvest her deer this past season. Survivors include: 3 Sons: Glen (Tammy), Greg (Tasha), & Gary (Dana Gunderson) Sunita. Granddaughters: Natalie, Ele, & Kennedy Sunita.

Sister: Hazel Sunita. Sisters-in-law: Audrey Braun & Jackie (Lee) Miller. Hilbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann, a daughter Gail Sunita, and brothers Martin & Maynard Sunita.

Hilbert’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 7 PM at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 PM until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at 10 AM Thursday at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
