Howard Arthur Pantle, age 88 of Fredonia, was surrounded by his family when he passed into eternal life Sunday, September 23, 2018, just 12 days after the love of his life, Ruth Ann Pantle. Howard was born March 24, 1930 in Highland Park, IL to Charles and Sophie (Henrichs) Pantle. He grew up and attended school in Highland Park.

On September 12, 1962 Howard married Ruth (Smith) Collier and instantly became a family man and wonderful father to Patricia, Jennifer and Thomas. Their family soon grew with the birth of two sons, Mark and Stephen. The family lived in Slinger until 1968 when they bought their farm in Fredonia, where Howard lived the remainder of his life.

Howie loved gardening and landscaping. Alongside his wife and family, he owned and operated Pioneer Garden Center for nearly 20 years. Howie also drove a school bus for many years and was adored by his passengers.

Howard was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Above all, he was a man of God. He is survived by 3 sons; Thomas (Diane) Collier of Hazelhurst; Mark (Laura) Pantle of Fredonia; Stephen (Lorice) Pantle of West Bend.

He is further survived by 16 grandchildren: Paula (Patrick) Brennan; Amy (Erik) Ciriacks; Scott (Megan) Collier; Lindsay (Scott Hensley) Collier; Ben Collier; Ann Idt; Christopher Idt; Dianna (Shawn Hoffman) Pantle; Erik Pantle; Mitchell Bustamante; Hannah Bustamante; Mason Pantle; Sienna Pantle; Courtney (Daniel) Meyer; Kayla (Stephen Scheel) Schmitt; and Kenzie Pantle; 16 great-grandchildren: Tanner (Mary) Leaveck; Logan Leaveck; Madison, Samuel and Oliver Ciriacks; Henry Collier; Cailin and Addison Idt; Conrad, Archer, Gage and Sawyer Hensley; Dylan Neumann; Maverick Idt; Everly Hoffman; and Ella Scheel; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Lucille Leaveck; sister, Jean Smith; brother, Kenneth (Patricia) Pantle, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth; daughters; Patricia Hass and Jennifer Idt; son-in-law, John Idt; 4 brothers, Gilbert (Gloria) Pantle; Alvin Pantle, William (Carole) Pantle, Charles (Elizabeth) Pantle; sister Beatrice (Edward) Sjoberg; sister-in-law, Marion (Robert) Ettinger; and brother-in-law, Charles Smith. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 13th at New Life Church, 4125 County Hwy D, West Bend.

The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Saturday from 10AM – 12 noon.
