Mrs. Evalind Gray, formerly of Antigo, Fredonia and Waupaca, passed away Sunday evening, September 2, 2018 at Port Haven in Port Washington, where she had resided for the past three years. She was 72 years old. Evalind was born in Antigo, WI on February 11, 1946, daughter of Dr. Carl E. and Lillian H. Davis Zellmer.

She attended local schools, graduating from Anitgo High School, Class of 1964, and went on to earn a certificate from the College of Business in Antigo in 1966. On April… Read More » 15, 1967 she was united in marriage with Richard Pesl at St. Mary’s Church in Antigo. In 1970 she moved to Belgium, and later to Fredonia in 1973.

While there, “Lindy” worked as a school lunch attendant in the local schools, as well as working at Allen Edmonds in Port Washington and Bauman’s Grocery in Waubeka. She married John Gray on December 8, 1990 in Brookfield. The couple lived in Milwaukee and Lindy earned a certificate from the Office Skills Training Program at MATC in 1984.

They moved to Waupaca in 1992 and Mrs. Gray took a position at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, serving food to the men and women who reside in the nursing home of the facility. John preceded her in death in 1999 and Lindy moved back to the Ozaukee County area in 2016. Mrs. Gray was a hard worker; when she wasn’t serving others, she enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, gardening, and then canning, pickling and preserving her bounty.

She is survived by her daughters Tracy Pesl of Menomonee Falls and Pamela Pesl of Port Charlotte, FL, grandchildren Nikolaus Pesl and Hallee Pesl-Wayne, both of Florida, former husband Richard (Kathleen) Pesl of Antigo, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband John Gray and brother Thomas Zellmer. Memorial Services will be held Monday, September 10th at 11AM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave.

, Port Washington. Chaplin Rick Book will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Monday from 10-11AM.

Lindy will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI; the family will receive visitors at the cemetery chapel Monday afternoon from 2-2:30PM before final prayers.
