Pete Pfeffer, of Port Washington, formerly of Fredonia, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his residence. He was 77 years old. Pete was born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1941, son of Robert Pfeffer and Margaret Siegel Pfeffer.

Pete worked for over 30 years in the industry, progressing from a stockbroker to executive vice president/director of many financial companies. He managed many facets of investment and proprietary trading, including product development and corporate finance. After retiring in 2001, Pete became an expert witness in securities fraud.

Pete and his family had a 200-acre ranch in the Town of Fredonia, where he became the first person in Wisconsin to raise Texas Longhorn cattle. Pete was a member and current board member of the Port Washington Yacht Club, a former member of the Chicago Board of Trade, and the National Futures Association. He enjoyed competing in rodeo events with his daughter, Ann, shooting clay pigeons with his sons, Mike and John, riding Harleys, sailing, powerboating, and having a drink with his friends at the Yacht Club or Newport Shores.

Pete is survived by his three children: Ann (Nels) Johnson of Port Washington, Michael (Beth) Pfeffer of Brighton, CO, and John Pfeffer of Mundelein, IL. He is further survived by five grandchildren: Sydney Johnson, and Mackenzie, Cassidy, Landon and Noah Pfeffer, his sister Roberta (Dave) Carlson of Peoria, AZ, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Crissy and his brother Stephen.

A celebration of Pete’s life will take place at the Port Washington Yacht Club on Saturday, November 17th. The gathering will start at 3 PM with military honors at 4 PM, followed by a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Port Washington Yacht Club Scholarship Fund.
