Ronald Butkus, of Port Washington, formerly of Oconomowoc, passed away surrounded by his loving family in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his residence. He was 68 years old. Ron was born in Chicago, IL, on April 30, 1950, son of Alphonse Butkus and Bernice Rupslaukus Butkus.

He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Grafton and a former member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Delafield, where he was a Eucharistic Minister for parishioners in the hospital and homebound. Ron also enjoyed cooking, traveling, buying new cars, and was a huge supporter of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Ron is survived by his wife Barbara of Port Washington, two children Ronald (Kim) Butkus of Antioch, IL and Amy (Todd) Steffen of Menomonee Falls.

He is further survived by seven grandchildren: Sophia, Frank, Raquel, Ron, Henry, Joe, and Ruby, two siblings Tony (Mary) Butkus of Brookfield, IL and Patricia Butkus of Oak Lawn, IL, sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis (Rick) Rimer of Plainfield, IL, Fran (Deland) Pelto of Scottsdale, AZ, and Joe (the late Karen) Galenziewski of Chicago, IL, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Bernice and his in-laws Frank and Dolly Galenziewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4th at 1 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1916 Washington St., Grafton.

Father Mike Strachota of St. Joan of Arc and St. Catherine’s Catholic Parishes will preside over the Mass. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Thursday the 4th from 11:30 AM until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the ALS Association (www.
