Janice G. Streff (nee Leak) passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. She was 91 years old. Janice a lifelong resident of Port Washington was born on July 14, 1927 to Edward and Gertrude (nee Herman) Leak.

Janice was united in marriage to Walter Streff on October 2, 1948 and they shared 65 years of marriage together until Wally passed in 2014. She strongly valued her Catholic faith and the time she spent with friends and family. Janice loved children especially babies and was known as “Cookie Grandma” to her grandchildren, which was a name given to her for carrying on her grandmother’s tradition of always having the cookie jar full. Shopping and spoiling her children and grandchildren was second nature to Janice who had a generous heart.

She loved doing things for others and willingly volunteered her time and baked goods. Janice enjoyed knitting slippers, collecting Beanie Babies, fishing with her husband Wally in Door County, watching the Packers and Badgers, cooking and baking. Her pies and turkey dinners were a favorite.

Janice was proud of the many jobs she has held throughout the years some of which included waitressing, working at the Ozaukee County Jail, Sears catalog, laboratory aid at the hospital in Port Washington and providing childcare. Janice is survived by her children: Susan Asherman of Milwaukee, Michael (Naoe) Streff of Tampa Bay, Florida, Patrick (Debbie) Streff of Conover, Peter Streff of Port Washington, Wendy (Rick) Harmon of West Bend, grandchildren: Monica Thein, Stephanie Streff, Candice Streff, Kelly Streff, Brian Streff, Tory Harmon, Whitney Harmon, Morgan (Steven) Kluck, Luke Streff, Jessie Streff, great-grandchildren: Jacob, Hope, Ava, Julian, Wolfgang, Rufio, Elinor and Moses, sister Marie Krepsky, sisters-in-law Renee Streff and Betty Leak. Janice is preceded by her parents, husband Walter Streff, brothers Edward (Betsy) Leak, Fritz Leak, and brothers-in-law Eugene (Liz) Streff and Lester Streff.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Avenue Cedarburg, 53012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Online condolences may be left at www.
