Ms. Jean Doxtator of Cedarburg, formerly of Grafton, Fox Point and Whitefish Bay, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Saturday morning, October 6, 2018. She was 71 years old. Jean was born in Whitefish Bay on March 4, 1947, daughter of Harold and Pearl Johnson Byrne.
She attended St. Monica’s and St. Robert’s Grade Schools and graduated from Holy Angels High School before attending UW Milwaukee. The couple settled in Fox Point and raised four beautiful daughters.
Jeannie was employed as a personal banker at the Northshore branch of M&I Bank until 2002, and later as a customer support specialist at Metavante (later FIS) until she retired in 2012. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Parish and was a former member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church in Fox Point where she had been very active on the parish council. Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card and dice games, and socializing with her “Lasata Friends”, “Condo Ladies” and “Poker Girls”.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren; Jeannie never wanted to miss a parade or fireworks display, and lived to pass that excitement on to her grandkids. Survivors include her four daughters, Erin (Jodi Duffe) Doxtator of Waukesha, Shelley Doxtator of Grafton, Shannon (Timothy) Kraus of Cedarburg and Caitlin (Michael) Ebel of Port Washington, and four grandchildren: Cameron & Grayson Ebel and Sierra & Tegan Kraus. She is further survived by brother Michael (Cindy Wilson) Byrne of Elkton, FL, sister Patricia Byrne of Milwaukee, mother-in-law Pam Doxtator of Lake Geneva, brothers-in-law Tony Wolf of Santa Barbara, CA and Bob Baldus of Brookfield, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her former husband Sparky Doxtator and sisters Judy Wolf & Marianne Baldus. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held at 3PM on Thursday, October 11th at St. Joseph Parish, 1619 Washington Street, Grafton. Deacon John Ebel will preside.
She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee the following day. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Thursday from 12 noon until 2:45PM. If desired, memorials are suggested to Sojourner Family Peace Center in Jean’s name, or to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her sister Judy Wolf.
