Susan Walker, formerly of Grafton and Saukville, passed away in the morning hours of Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her home in Newburg. She was 69 years old. Sue was born in Stevens Point on April 10, 1949, daughter of Robert Helminiak and Mary Ann Moss Helminiak.

She grew up in the Stevens Point area, graduating from Maria Catholic High School (now Pacelli H.S.) with the class of 1967. On August 24, 1984, she married John Walker in Grafton. The couple settled in Grafton,… Read More » and later in Saukville/Newburg.

Sue worked for Ozaukee County as a social worker for many years, retiring in 2011. Sue enjoyed traveling to Jamaica every spring with her husband John. She also enjoyed relaxing at their trailer near Crivitz, reading, and socializing with friends and family.

Sue is survived by three children: Jennifer (Stuart) Engert of West Bend, Steven (Robyn) Walker of Roberts, and Michael (Elena) Walker of Greendale, eight grandchildren: Miranda, Brooke, Brittany, Alex, Hannah, Mariana, Christopher and Anita. She is further survived by her mother Mary Ann Helminiak of Stevens Point, her sister Judy Butcher and brother Roy (DeAnna) Helminiak both of Plover, sister-in-law Julie Helminiak of Bancroft, brothers-in-law Charles and Gene Merrill, both of Indiana, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband John, her father Robert, and her brother Kurt Helminiak.

A celebration of Sue’s life will take place on October 20th, with the time and location to be announced at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is honored to serve the family.
