Howard “Rick” Roop, age 76, of Columbus, went to be with his special pets on April 29, 2018. Rick was born March 24, 1942 in Wheelwright, KY. Retired from Landon Vault Company.

U.S. Army Veteran. Member of Amvets #1312, VFW Post #3424, American Legion Southway Post #144, and Southside Eagles #2244. Preceded in death by parents, Dave and Merlin Roop; brothers, Dave Jr. and Bobby Roop; sister, Jean Meade; his special pets, Tippy and Sweetie Pie.

Survived by wife of 41 years, Loretta Roop; sister, Joyce (Lester) Bates; brothers, Bill (Sue) Roop, Tommy (Barb) Roop, and Jessie (Mary) Roop; brothers-in-law, Ike (Pat) Spradling, Mike (Donna) Spradling; sister-in-law, Pamela (Hud Haley) Mourn; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 3 – 7 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus OH. Additional visitation at Wheelwright Free Will Baptist Church in Wheelwright Junction, KY on Thursday May 3, 2018 at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Buckingham Cemetery.
