Psalm 139:14 King James Version Ida Belle McClinton Grant was born on April 30, 1936 in Hensley, Arkansas. She was the second of five siblings of the late DeWoody McClinton and Nancy Holland McClinton.

“Belle”, as she was fondly called by her family and other friends from Arkansas, entered eternal rest at Research Hospital on the morning of April 26, 2018, knowing she was loved and cherished. In addition to her parents, Belle was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward McClinton, Willie Albert McClinton and DeWoody McClinton, one sister, Evelyn McClinton Rowlett and her husband, Robert Grant. In 1952, he family relocated from Hensley to the Kansas City area.

The following year Ida united with Friendship Baptist Church where Reverend I.H. Henderson was Pastor. She was very actively involved in church activities the remainder of her life. For over fifty years, she served on the Usher Ministry.

She attended weekly Wednesday morning prayer meeting and Wednesday noon Bible Study. Belle was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class #7 taught by Sister Carolyn King and she was a part of the Naphtali Sheepfold with Deacon Winn. Mrs. Grant retired from St. Luke Hospital after many years of faithful service in early 1999.

During her retirement she enjoyed returning to Arkansas for social visits and reunions. She always looked forward to her yearly trips to California. Ida B. McClinton Grant leaves to cherish her memories, Lula (Stanford) Boyer; brother-in-law, Melvin Rowlett; sister-in-law, Mae McClinton; nephews, Steven and Melvin Rowlett; life long friends, Norma Gray and family; Dorothy Smith and family; Goddaughter, Jacqueline E. Hall and family; and a host of other cousins and friends.

Funeral Service for Ida B. McClinton Grant will be held Thursday, May 3, 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 3530 Chelsea. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery.
