Obituary of Ida Belle Gaines Ida Belle Gaines, 79, of Goldston died Monday, July 30, 2018 at Siler City Center. Ms. Gaines was born in Chatham County on January 16, 1939 the daughter of Horace T. and Hazel (Phillips) Gaines. Ida was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School Class.

She was a “people person” and a homemaker who enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking, sewing and shopping. Ida was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Molly Gaines and a brother, Wade Gaines. She is survived by sister: Hazellean G. Scott and husband, Mike of Bear Creek and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City and other times at the home of her sister, Hazellean. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston with Rev. Mike Garner officiating.
