Obituary of Velvin Kelly Velvin Kelly, age 94, of Troy died Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe. Mrs. Kelly was born March 3, 1924 the daughter of the late Lee Blake and Nealie Chisholm Blake. Mrs. Kelly was a native of Montgomery County and a member of First Wesleyan Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for Children Class for over 30 years.

Velvin was great prayer warrior for others and always putting others interest before herself. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, Velvin was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Kelly; sisters: Pauline Dickens and Alma Minish; brother: Harvard Blake.

She is survived by son: Michael Kelly of Troy; daughter: Sue K. Ritchie and her husband, John of Troy; grandsons: Joseph Ritchie and (Louise) of Raleigh, Jacob Ritchie and his wife, Jenna of Raleigh. The family will receive friends Monday, July 9, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Highway 134 North, Troy with Dr. Edward E. Lindsey officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to express special thanks to all the staff and caretakers of Autumn Care of Biscoe and to the caretakers at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Highway 134 North, Troy, NC 27371 or First Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 251 Campground Road, West End, NC 27376.
