Obituary of Virginia Comer Inez Robinson Comer passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House. She was born January 10, 1928 in Montgomery County to Odell and Mamie Robinson. Ms. Comer enjoyed working for doctors for over 60 years, finally retiring at the age of 81.

Inez was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, where she was member of the Sara Sunday School class and enjoyed senior get togethers. Her passion was helping to start a shut-in ministry at her church visiting with the sick and homebound. This blessed her as much or more than those she ministered to.

Her family was her greatest blessing. In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her son, Gary Craige Comer and his wife Jackie Comer, brothers, Paul Robinson and Leroy Robinson; and sister, Frances Gant. She is survived by her daughter, Karen C. Alman (Julian) of Siler City; granddaughters, Kimberly Alman of Asheboro and Kelly A. Mendenhall (Scott) of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Chloe Mendenhall and Keegan Mendenhall both of Greensboro; brother, Hoyle Robinson of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Fran Swicegood.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1:30-2:45 pm at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 South Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Rev. Rob Roberts and Dr. Keith Hudson officiating.

Burial will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am in Randolph Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Rd. , Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209 or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.

The family would like to thank the staff of Coventry House in Siler City and Hospice of Randolph for the wonderful care given to Ms. Comer. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Comer family.
