Obituary of Larry Garwood Larry Eugene Garwood, 72, of Asheboro, NC, passed into the immediate presence of Jesus on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. Larry was born on October 2, 1945, in Winston-Salem, NC to Milton Turner & Louise Percival Garwood. He was a graduate of Griffith High School and proudly served in the US Air Force.

He was a member of the Moravian Church, Winston-Salem, and attended Rushwood Church in Asheboro. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Milton Turner Garwood, Jr He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine Beane Garwood, sons Derrick Eugene Garwood & wife Shannon and Casey Allen Garwood & fiancé Jamie Hayden; grandsons Cole, Jackson and Hudson; sister Barbara Garwood all of Asheboro, NC.

He is also survived by several nephews and nieces. One of Larry’s favorite pastimes was having coffee and visiting with his friends at the Golden Waffle. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. , Asheboro, NC. Funeral service will follow on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating and with military honors.
