Obituary of Dorothy Watkins Dorothy Irene Thaxton Watkins, age 96, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House. Ms. Watkins was born in Person County, NC on October 20, 1921 to James Edward and Beulah Jane Smith Thaxton. She was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Asheboro.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Tom Thaxton, Betty Ruth Hudson, and Ruby Jane Alford. She is survived by her nieces, June Kennedy and Carol Stevens; great niece, Debbie Warren; great nephews, David Kennedy and Dean Kennedy; many loving great great nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Harrell. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with Rev Paul Freeman officiating.

Memorials may be made to Church of God of Prophecy, P.O. Box 4133, Asheboro, NC 27204. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Watkins family.
