Obituary of Charlene Govan Isreal Charlene Govan Isreal, 68, of Duet Drive, Siler City died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at UNC Hospice, Pittsboro. Mrs. Isreal was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 12, 1950 the daughter of Robert Felix and Alfreida (Bowman) Govan. Charlene was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Creedmoor and truly loved her service for the Lord. Charlene was preceded in death by a son, Jamaine Lewis Isreal and grandson, Joseph Woods. She is survived by her husband of 43 years: James L. Isreal; daughter: Juanita M. Isreal; son: Cristen Isreal all of Siler City; sisters, Marian Govan of Siler City, Cynthia Goodwin of Charlotte, SC, Ife Watson of New York, Sarah Jean Bacon of New York and Sylvia Singleton; brother: Robert Govan of New York; grandchildren, Shamar Sumlin, Robert Durant and Deja Durant; a great-grandson, sister-cousin, Thelma Bowman of New York; special nephews, Anthony Sutton and Elijah Ward; longtime friend, Pastor Charlotte Bryant.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C. A. Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
