Ida Smith Williams Aiken, SC–A celebration of life service for Mrs. Ida Smith Butler Williams age 98, will be held 2:00 pm Thursday May 17, 2018 at Redd’s Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Richard McWhite and Rev. Mark Watford officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Williams body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Mrs. Williams entered into rest peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Mother’s Day Sunday May 13, 2018.

She was a native of Abbeville, SC and had made Aiken County her home since 1952 and was the wife of the late Mr. Samuel Alvin Butler and the late Mr. James Williams, and a daughter of the late Mr. Fletcher T. Smith and the late Mrs. Carrie DeVore Smith. Mrs. Williams was the owner and operator of Aiken Beauty School and retired in 1979 after 25 years in business, and was a past president of the South Carolina Cosmetology Association. She was an active member of Redd’s Branch Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Choir.

Survivors include two sons, Victor (Janet) Butler, Ocean Park, Washington, Olin (Nita) Butler, Aiken; one daughter, Mary Elaine Seigler (Hubert) Kneece, Graniteville; eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was also predeceased by two brothers, David and Tom Smith, and two sisters, Kathleen Akin, and Frances Minor. Pallbearers will be, Stacy Butler, Ben Butler, Brett Butler, Tyler Gregory, Tripp Caldwell, and Coleman Harley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of Redd’s Branch Baptist Church. The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to their mother’s devoted caregivers, Cary and Cindy Stone/Brown, and Brandi Miller for the love and compassionate care they gave her. A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm Wednesday May 16, 2018 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801.
