The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Carr officiating.

Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.

iveyfuneral.com. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Imogene Carr was born November 14, 1933 in Tifton, GA, the daughter of Alexander and Inez Griffis Carr.

Imogene was a Bainbridge native who spent a number of years in Moultrie, then made her way back to Decatur County settling in Brinson. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Family was the foundation for Imogene.

She was especially close to her sisters. In her eyes, her greatest accomplishments were her children. Her grandchildren and great-grands brought her joy unspeakable.

Imogene was an excellent cook and her fried chicken was a favorite dish she shared with family and friends. Survivors include her children, Sue Webb and her husband, Bryan, of Bainbridge, GA, Lola Pearson of Tifton, GA, Johnny Britt and his wife, Delores, of Ft. Valley, GA, and Todd Britt of Savannah, GA; her siblings, Donald & Moline Carr of Rome, GA, Alexander & Linda Carr of Sylvester, GA, Glenda & Melvin Bragg also of Sylvester, GA, and Roger Carr of Ocilla, GA; her grandchildren, Michelle, Carleigh, Tyler, Jessi, Cody, Ryan, Kyle, Braedon and Amy; and her great-grandchildren, Britt, Jake, Emily and Maggie.

In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Iris Lee Britt; her siblings, Marie Raco, Herbert Carr, George Carr, Thelma Nelson, Lavon Carr, Wendell Carr, Murray Carr and Randall Carr; and her son-in-law, Phil Pearson.
