Obituary for Imogene Janet Patterson Imogene Janet Allen Patterson passed away peacefully after a brief illness at her home in White Horn, on December 3, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones. Imogene was born January 15, 1928, the fourth of nine children, to William McKinley and Mickie Shanks Allen of Caney Valley. Focused on education, Imogene worked her way through Tusculum College and East Tennessee State University where she received her bachelor’s degree.

Twenty-five years later she would obtain her master’s degree in education, graduating with honors from East Tennessee State University. After J.C.’s death in 1990, Imogene would continue her travels, china painting, spending time with her sisters, and enjoying her grandchildren. Imogene’s faith and love of family would sustain her throughout her lifetime. Preceding Imogene in death were her brothers, Elmo, Rudolph, and Severt Allen and her sister, Mozelle Harville.
