Obituary for Irene Ficek Deerfield, NH – Irene Ficek (Yia-Yia) 75, formerly of Hampton and Manchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Elliot Hospital. She was born in Manchester June 15, 1943 a daughter of the late James Belganis and Mary (Silakos) Belganis Stefanik. Irene attended St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester where she taught Sunday school and Greek school.

Her passions included her family, cooking, volunteering at animal shelters, hosting Karaoke parties, boating, wintering in Daytona Beach, FL, and was an avid reader. She leaves behind, her son, Donald Ficek and his partner Judy Fudge of Hampton, her daughter, Robyn Ficek her husband, Bobby Watson, and her granddaughter, Alexys Ficek of Strafford, her sister, Lynda Arreguin of Castro Valley, CA, nieces and nephews, and former husband Tony Cappello. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Patsy McKean and Dorothy Marszalek.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018 with a Trisagion service at 7 PM in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the [New Hampshire S.P.C.A.
