Obituary for Mrs. Irene Lucy Fucile Gardner- Irene L. Fucile, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Wachusett Manor in Gardner with her family by her side. She was born in Gardner on November 24, 1924 to the late Adam and Sophie (Borkowski) Ruckey. After graduating from Gardner High School with the class of 1942, she worked for many years at local businesses as an upholsterer.

She was employed by the former Gardner Craftsman, and she was a Rush Seater at the former Nichols and Stone Company in Gardner for many years before her retirement. Irene was a life member of St. Joseph church in Gardner, and was a member of the Polish Rosary Sodality. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb.

She was an excellent baker, and cook. She enjoyed crafts, making doll dresses, painting furniture, and attending arts and crafts fairs, selling her craft items with her husband, Henry. She also enjoyed woodworking with him.

Irene leaves two sons, John and his wife, Francene Deslauriers & Gary and his wife, Kim Deslauriers. She is also survived by her two daughters; Mary Ann, and her husband Francis Cyr, and Patricia and her husband, Wayne Antononi. She leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred Donavan Deslauriers, who died in 1977, and her husband, Henry Fucile, who died in 2013. She was also predeceased by four brothers; James, William, Zenon, and Edward Ruckey, and a sister, Mary Kadyeski. A calling hour will be held on Friday September 21, 2018 from 9 – 10 a.m. , followed by a service officiated by Fr.

Francis Roberge at the Mack Funeral Home, Lamoureux – Smith & Poliks Chapel, 105 Central St. Gardner Burial will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Gardner.
