Funeral services for Isaac Payton “Ike” McBroom will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at the St. Louis Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Leslie officiating. Interment will follow at the Vista Cemetery. Ike was born December 21, 1926 in Konawa to the late James and May (Johnson) McBroom.

He died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 in Shawnee, at the age of 92 years and 4 days. Ike grew up in the Asher area. He spent many years working in concrete construction, building bridges.

After… Read More » retiring from Dolese Concrete, Ike moved to Davis, where he worked 20+ years for Drake Farms. In 2010, due to failing health, Ike moved to Shawnee to be closer to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Black & husband Don of Asher, Nancy Morton & husband Dale of Macomb and Linda Morton & husband David of Tecumseh; three sons, Raymond McBroom of Wanette, Donald Gene McBroom & wife Joyce of Byars and Kenneth McBroom of Shawnee; one sister, Leona “Sis” Richardson of Purcell; as well as 20 grandchildren and numerous great-granchildren. In addition to his parents, Ike was preceded in death by his wife Wilema; one daughter, Mildred McBroom; two sons, Larry McBroom and Terry McBroom; sisters, Violet “Mamie” Dowd, Fern Malone, Olie Brown and Nellie McBroom; brothers, Tom McBroom, John D. McBroom, Frank McBroom; as well as two infant brothers.
