OBITUARY J. Bernard Walling October 18, 1932 – July 15, 2018 James Bernard “Bernie” Walling, age 85, of Willis, Texas passed away on Sunday July 15, 2018. Bernard was born October 18, 1932 to parents Walter Otto Walling and Laura Orene Robberson Walling. Bernard leaves behind so many great moments and pictures in the minds of the people he touched.

The values he shared guided us all and gave us great insight for our personal journey throughout life. Bernard strived to leave the world a better place than it was before him. He served our country and worked himself through college while supporting a wife and his children.

He eventually built a small business that grew to employ over 100 individuals that he deeply cared for. That business is still in existence today. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Charlene Walling; children, Gail Walling Gates and husband Glenn of Magnolia, Texas, Russell Walling and Maureen Lynch and her children Alicia, Lizzie, Becca and Jo, Ron Walling and wife Marianne of Columbus, Indiana, grandchildren, Courtney McLaughlin and husband Chris of Magnolia, Texas, Brent Gates of Magnolia, Texas, Nathan Walling and Isaac Walling of Columbus, Indiana; great-grandson, Caiden Parker McLaughlin of Magnolia, Texas, sister, Alma Lee O’Brien and husband Harris of Spring, Texas, three nephews; two nieces, and a host of other family and friends also survive.

A visitation for Bernard will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 4308 W. Davis Street, Conroe, TX 77304 with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. A burial will occur at Brookside Memorial Park located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the Walling family may be shared at www.
