Jack “Grumpy” Lawrence Phillips III, passed away September 18, 2018 at Cloud County Health Center. He was born May 8, 1956, the son of Jack L. Phillips Jr. and Dorothy M. (Yubas) Phillips in Pasadena, CA. Jack served in the Army National Guard 1977-1985 and was a painting contractor and general maintenance contractor.

He was an OTR truck driver for 17 years and also 2 year as a Krispy Kreme delivery driver through Topeka. September 28, 1987 he chose the life of sobriety with the assistance of AA, serving as a mentor and sponsor to many. He married Tabitha Lewis on April 11, 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Tabitha; son Jack L. Phillips IV, Colorado Springs, CO, the mother of his son Pamela Winford; sister, Susan Blackburn, Fruitland, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, on brother, and one sister. Cremation services were chosen with a memorial service held at a later date.

Memorials are to the Freedom Board, Concordia, KS. Nutter Mortuary is handling arrangements.
