John G. ‘Jack’ Harris, 76, of Avoca died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 13, 1942 in Dodgeville the son of John and Gladys (Olson) Harris. Jack married Karen Peterson and they had three children together.

On August 22, 1992 Jack was united in marriage to Luanne Wardell. He worked as a truck driver for Edward Kraemer and Sons and later the Kraemer Company, hauling heavy equipment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and NASCAR. Jack was well known for his fish frys and super bowl parties. Jack is survived by his wife Luanne; 2 children: Tina (Gary) Becwar of Boscobel, John Bradley (Ronee) Harris of Avoca, step-son: David (Linda) Lewis of Avoca; son-in-law: Brian (Sherri) Beuchner of Cross Plains; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Sharlene (George) Ramsden of Avoca, Joan Adams of Muscoda, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys, daughter Tonya Beuchner, granddaughter Lexy Harris, brother Tom Harris, and stepson Brian Lewis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home in Muscoda. Burial will be held in the Avoca Cemetery at a later date.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
