Norma Ewing Tanner, 86, of Richland Center died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Richland Hospital. She was born October 4, 1932 in Walworth County and was adopted by the Floyd and Minnie Surrem, growing up in the Five Point Area. Norma married Lee Ewing on June 7, 1953 and to this union 3 children were born: Kendlyn Kay Ewing, Ronald Lee Ewing and David Paul Ewing.

Lee and Norma owned and operated Ewing Market, and after Lee became ill, Norma went back to school to become an elementary teacher. … Read More » After Lee’s death in 1977, Norma married Carl Tanner in 1980. Norma enjoyed teaching and spending time with her students.

She loved her family and all the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-great-children. Norma enjoyed spending time fishing, growing plants, and watching wildlife from her house. She will be missed by all of those who knew her.

Norma is survived by three children: Kendlyn Ewing of Fond du Lac, Ronald (Mary) Ewing of Richland Center, David (Andrea) Ewing of Richland Center; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother: Kenneth (Joyce) Frankowiak of Lexington, KY; many other relatives, and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband’s Lee Ewing and Carl Tanner. Private family graveside rites will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery at a later date.

The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
