Obituary for Mrs. Jackie Davis McIlwain Jackie Davis McIlwain, 67, wife of Horace McIlwain, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Augusta University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. David Stockton officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. McIlwain, a native of Waynesboro, Ga. was the daughter of late Willie Rufus and Dorothy Powell.

She retired from Kroger with 20 years of service in the Accounting Department. As a founder of the Thursday Card Club, the club is still together after 16 years. She was a member of 29 years at Damascus Baptist Church.

Jackie always enjoyed having lunch with the retired Kroger friends. She enjoyed camping, traveling, reading, and gardening with her husband Horace. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Survivors include her husband, Horace McIlwain; one son, Thomas Elijah Davis, III (Carrie) ; two daughters, Lisa Davis Golden (Larry) and Dottie Davis McLaughlin (Patrick); two step-sons, Stephen Thomas McIlwain (Jackie) and James Lewis McIlwain; one step-daughter, Pam McIlwain Thompson (Jerald); two brothers, Bobby Powell and Tommy Powell (Bonnie); Seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Ted” Elijah Davis, Jr., her parents, Willie and Dorothy and her sister, Peggy Dunn. Pallbearers will be Thomas Davis, III, Dalton Green, Eli Davis, Bryce McLaughlin, Kevin McIlwain, Steven McIlwain, Bryant McIlwain and Drew Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class and members of the DARPS Group.

Memorials may be made to Damascus Baptist Church Building Fund, 6375 Ridge Road, Appling, GA 30802. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of service at the church.
