Obituary for Jackie Dunn Ruby Jacqueline “Jackie” Driver Dunn passed away surrounded by her family at the Millennium Nursing Center in Huntsville, Alabama during the afternoon of December 28, 2018. She was born October 8, 1932, in Silver Point in DeKalb County, Tennessee, to the late Milas “Mike” Washington Driver of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Opal Mae (Brown) Driver of Smithville Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Houston R. L. Dunn, a sister, Jane Ann Driver, and a granddaughter, Tara Evelyn Dunn.

Jackie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Laura Dunn of Athens, Alabama, and daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bill Milam of Keller, Texas. She had eight grandchildren: Sara Dunn (Andrew) Bojie; Lisa Dunn (Cal) Langford; Melanie Dunn; Lindsay Dunn (Morgan) Hutcherson; Kristen Dunn; Jennifer Milam; Erin Milam (Glenn) Goebel; and Joshua Milam. Additionally, fourteen great grandchildren: Morgan, Jared, Elena, Camden, Mathias, Adelaide, Carris, Kenzie, Ava, Houston, Mason, Alex, Arden, and Kai, as well as numerous nieces and nephews Jackie was a long-time resident of the Twin Oak Community in Putnam County.

She retired from General Motors in Detroit and was also employed for many years by Tennessee Tech University. She had a strong work ethic and loved staying busy. She also enjoyed shopping, getting the latest scoop from her friends on the phone.

She was passionate about gardening, cooking big meals, fishing with her husband, golfing with her buddies, boating on Center Hill Lake, and spending time with her family. She was a pet lover who took in and named every stray cat or dog that wandered onto her farm, but was especially fond of her Yorkshire Terrier, Nate. Jackie was a friend to all that knew her and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at the Millennium Nursing Center, Senior Helpers, and Kindred Hospice for the exceptional care and comfort they provided Jackie. Funeral services will be held at Dyer Funeral Home Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with Johnny Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant View Cemetery Trust Fund at 6673 Window Cliff Rd, Baxter, Tennessee 38544. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
