McGowan passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Cleburne. He was born June 8, 1946 in Cleburne to Shirley E. and Walterene Martin McGowan.

Jackie graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1964. He was always the life of the party. Jackie is survived by two sisters, Jan Johnson of Burleson and Sue “Suzie” Vaughn and husband Paul of Cleburne; two nephews; two nieces; his best girl, Pat and daughter, Janie Harris; and best friends, Butch Phipps “his personal chauffeur”, Andy Williams, and Danny Moore.

He loved to go out and eat every chance he got with his best friends, Butch, Andy and Danny. Then they’d hop in the “Caddy” and travel down the country roads and old haunts of their youth, sometimes picking up other friends along the way. Butch, Andy, and Danny were always there for Jackie for over 65 years.

You can’t do better than that. Jackie is also survived by an Aunt, Jo Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK; four great nephews; four great nieces, many cousins, and his Heritage Trails family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A special thanks to Butch Phipps for taking Jackie wherever he needed to go for the last eight years.
