Obituary for James Nelson Memorial service for James Perry Nelson, 96, of Keene will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Grandview. James Perry Nelson passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Keene. He was born January 7, 1922 in Keene to Daniel Charles and Mamie Elizabeth Rawlings Nelson.

Mr. Nelson served in the United States Navy and was a master carpenter and cabinet maker. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his children, Alice Rodriguez and husband Joe of Jayess, MS, Jimmy Nelson of WY, Billy Nelson of Grandview, Judy Kessler and husband Jason of Greenville and Ruby Nelson of Grandview; 35 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Patrick Nelson of Portland, OR; sister-in-law, Mabel Nelson of Sacramento, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Carrie Minnie Nelson on August 13, 2004 and Helen Arlene Henderson on August 11, 2016; son, Bobby Nelson on September 1, 2000; grandchildren, Aaron Nelson in 1991 and Maya Miles on October 13, 2015; three brothers, Harold Nelson, John Daniel Nelson, and Weldon Nelson; sister, Faye Hill; and brother-in-law, Richard Hill.
