Jacqueline’s Obituary Jacqueline “Jackie” Davenport Watkins, 84, of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 12, 1934 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Gerald and Elizabeth (Sherman) Davenport. In 1953, Jackie graduated from Big Rapids High School, and was a lifelong resident of Big Rapids.

For 21 years she worked as purchasing supervisor at Ferris State University. Following her retirement from Ferris she worked as a massage therapist. Jackie is survived by her devoted husband of 23 years, John Watkins; one daughter Vicky Hess (Tim) Pendergrass of Winchester, TN; one step-daughter Peggy (Ray) Pakune of Spokane, WA; one step-son Peter (Laura) Watkins of Winona MN; 10 grandchildren, Ashley (Keith) Durham, Matthew (Kayla) Chupp, Veronica (Benjamin) Beeler, Alexander (Dustin) Hess-Mathews, Campbell, Mae, and Seth Watkins, Nickki, Charlotte, and Rachael; plus 9 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Neva Metcalf and Sharon Green, and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ron Hess, her brother Dick Davenport, and three sisters, Irene Hurst, Marion Metcalf, Virginia Ford, plus Dorothy Ciulis. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
