James’ Obituary Private services were held for James A. Prinkey, 84, of North Charleroi who died unexpectedly Monday, March 11, 2019 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born February 12, 1935 in Connellsville, the son of Hiram C. Prinkey, Sr. and Frances L. Hawkins Prinkey. Jim was a graduate of Connellsville High School and retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad.

Even after retirement, he kept his passion for trains with the utmost enthusiasm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22, the Slovak Club and the Belgium Club, all of Charleroi. He is survived by his wife, Twyla Doyle Prinkey with whom he celebrated forty years of marriage on February 14, 2019; two daughters, Mary Youger of Monongahela, Darlyn Marie Prinkey; two sons, Robert and John Prinkey; four grandchildren, Jillian Keller, Gina, Natalia, and Hunter Prinkey; two great grandchildren, Logan and Landon Keller; sister, Mary Ellen Prinkey Kenney of Dunbar; eight step children, Melissa Piper and husband Jimmy and their children, Maria, Billy, Mikey and Scott, Timothy Quinn and wife Jennifer and their children, Tessa, Olivia and Timmy Jr., Colleen Fedell and her children, Amber and Jimmy “Dude”, Julia Weight, Theresa Slebodnik, David Slebodnik, Jamie Walters, Faith Marsh and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James “Bim” Prinkey; daughter, Vesely Ann Prinkey; three brothers, John Ed, Donald Francis and H.C. Prinkey, Jr.; sister, Shirley Mae Prinkey; former wife, Mabel Waggoner Prinkey; two step children, Joseph and Lawrence Slebodnik; step granddaughter, Keri Ann Quinn.
