Obituary for James Arthur Bullard James Arthur Bullard, 85 years old of Fort Worth, TX passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018. Mr. Bullard was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 1, 1932. He was educated in the Fort Worth Public School system, graduating from the historic I. M. Terrell High School in 1951.

Upon graduation, Mr. Bullard enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country proudly on the USS Navasota, later receiving an Honorable Discharge. Mr. Bullard was married to Cecile Bullard, whom preceded him in death December of 2012. Mr. Bullard was a Foreman for over 25 years at Exchange Parts/Champion Rebuilder’s and labored at other local manufacturers in the Fort Worth area, until his retirement.

One of Mr. Bullard’s hobbies was reciting poetry memorized since high school, “The Creation,” by African American poet, James Weldon Johnson. Mr. Bullard accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized under the late, Rev. Smith Cary at the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, originally located at 1300 Evans Avenue on the city’s historic South Side.

He continued to be a faithful and active member at the church’s current location of 4216 Avenue M @ Miller, under Pastor, Ralph W. Emerson, Jr Mr. Bullard was active in Sunday School (his favorite part of worship), the Men’s Ministry and Usher Board #2, until his death. Mr. Bullard leaves to cherish his memories, daughter and son in law – Jamesetta (Paul) Williams, daughter, Arlene Z. Scott, sons James E. Bullard and Harvey E. Bullard all of Fort Worth, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, stepdaughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
