Obituary for James Barry Simmons James Barry Simmons, 82, of Orrtanna and formerly of York died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Wellspan Hospital of Gettysburg. He was the husband of Lois (Sullivan) Simmons. James was born in York on January 17, 1936, the son of the late James E. and Dorothy (Kehm) Simmons.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Keller and her husband, Jeff and Kristen Bailey and her husband, David both of York; and 5 grandchildren, Kraig Keller, Ellen Harbold, Dillion Bailey, Shaelynn Bailey and Cole Bailey. Jim was preceded in death by a son, Scott Simmons. James retired as a supervisor in 1996 from Caterpillar Tractor Company.

He was a member of Mount Zion United Church of Christ. Other memberships include Yellow Breeches Anglers and Conservation Assoc. , Buchannon Valley Rod and Gun Club, Craley Fish and Game, Trout Unlimited, Izaak Walton League of America and Biglerville American Legion Post 262.

James was a peacetime veteran of the U. S. Army. He received a two year degree in Business Administration from York College. A funeral service will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1054 Ridgewood Road, York with the Rev.

Jeff Kardisco officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
