James Curtis Whitehead October 1, 1956 – December 22, 2018 Reidsville – James Curtis Whitehead, beloved husband of Ora Murphy Whitehead, departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018. He was a native of Pittsylvania County, Virginia and a resident of North Carolina for the majority of his life. Mr. Whitehead was a former employee of the Cone Mills Corporation and was of the Baptist faith.

His parents, Mary Ethel Guy Whitehead and Elijah Whitehead; brother, Thurman Terry; sister-in-law, Zenobia Johnson, preceded him in death. Survivors are: beloved wife of 38 years, Ora Murphy Whitehead; daughters, Sherika Robinson (Isaiah) and Kia Whitehead; four grandchildren, Jaden, Jorden, Kaiden and Ky; sister, Joan Patrick (Charlie); brothers, Ricky Whitehead and Kenneth Terry; mother-in-law, Estella Murphy; sisters-in-law, Theon Withers (Joseph), Elizabeth Johnson (Alexander) and Lynetta Graves; brothers-in-law, Archie Henderson (Gloria), Robert Murphy, Randy Murphy and Ronnie Murphy (Nancy); special family and friends, Thomas Guy (Deborah), Richard Guy (Angela), James Watkins (Banan), Robert Murphy, Curtis Robertson, Angelo Galloway and Justin Graves; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 from the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 6038 Park Springs Road, Pelham with Pastor Gregory L. Hopkins and Min.

Alfred Randolph presiding. The family visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. His remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
