OBITUARY James Dennis Hopkins February 27, 1928 – October 6, 2018 James D. Hopkins, age 90, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. He was born Monday, February 27, 1928 in Independence, Missouri to the late Chester W. and Verna E. Oakley Hopkins; he is also preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Hopkins. A graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina receiving his Masters Degree.

During his life, Rev. Hopkins was pastor of Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield, Kentucky, Beechmont Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky; twenty years at Inglewood Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee and Faith Temple in Nashville. He served as Trustee at Belmont University, Held Revivals in Cuba and Jamaica.

He is survived by children, Rebecca Stallings, Timothy Hopkins; grandchildren, Benjamin Barton, Michelle Detwiler and Jenalee Paschall; four great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 10:00 Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Lincoya Hills Baptist Church 3141 McGavock Pike Nashville, Tennessee 37214 with Bro. Joe Evans officiating.
