Obituary for James Donald “JD” Burrus SUBLETTE – James Donald “J.D.” Burrus, 87, died Monday, September 3rd, 2018 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. He was born May 20th, 1931 to Zeno Van and Clara Francis Burrus in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was married to Bessie Jean Blair and together they had four children.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 until 1964. J.D. drove a semi truck for Alfalfa Inc. for nearly 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering with old cars and pickups.
He was proud to serve his country He is survived by his son, Jim Burrus of Gentry, Arkansas; daughters, Emily Cate of Gentry, Arkansas, Chammie Upshaw of Lincoln, Arkansas, and Melanie Reynolds, Ada, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 6th, 2018 at Haskell County Cemetery with Pastor Tim Tidenberg officiating.
