James Edward Hamilton, 78, of Vandergrift, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. He was born December 31, 1940 in Big Run, Pa to the late Harrison and Margaret Hamilton. He was a contractor/architect.

He belonged to the Masons. James enjoyed fishing, building beautiful homes, and working with his hands. He loved parties and, most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Renwick, of Leechburg; sons, James Daniel Hamilton, of Ford City, James Edward Hamilton, of North Fort Myers, FL, and Jonathon Lee Hamilton, of North Fort Myers, FL; daughter, Rebecca Jane Walter, of Kittanning; sister, Dorothy Reed, of Ohio; grandchildren, Athena, Alexia, Andrew, Paul, Blaze, Aylissa, Mia, Sylvia, Jaynelle, Tammy, Aundrea, Joshua, James, Ryan, Kelly, and Debra; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Paul Hamilton; and grandson, Kenneth Lloyd. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Faith United Presbyterian Church, 150, East Brady Rd.
