James Edward Branch, Sr. February 5, 2019 James Edward Branch, Sr., son of the late Martha Branch and Felton Davis was born on August 25, 1935, in Louisburg, North Carolina. He departed this life on February 5, 2019. James was raised in Louisburg, North Carolina and he moved to Paterson, New Jersey at a young age.

While in Paterson he worked hard for many years to take care of his family. He was able to retired from Thomas’ company (Thomas English Muffin). He lived in Paterson until he moved to Hampton, Virginia with his family in 2008.

James was a friendly person who never met a stranger and always willing to help anyone. He had a caring heart for everybody and loved his family unconditional. He enjoyed watching Sanford & Sons, Good Times and the movie “The Bandit”.

He enjoyed talking with friends and family and playing cards (poker). He had to have a Mounds candy everyday. He enjoyed traveling with his family and he especially enjoyed going to the casinos in Atlantic City, NJ.

He was united in holy matrimony to Olivia Branch and this union was blessed with three children. He was preceded in death by two brother-in-law John Rufus Williams and Edward Lee Williams and one sister-in-law Mary E. Williams and two nieces Malinda Baker and Corine Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Olivia Branch of Hampton, VA; two daughters, Diane Branch and Donna E. Branch both of Hampton, VA ; one son, James Edward Branch, Jr. (Kim) of Stafford, VA; one brother Zollie Branch of Paterson, NJ; brother-in-law Louis Williams and one sister-in-law Mary L. Williams of Newport News, VA; two granddaughter, Cherise Olivia Branch and Brittney Michelle Floyd, two grandson, James Edward Branch IIIand Jermaine Hutchins one great-granddaughter, Bree Michelle Floyd Booker; three Godchildren: Mary Leonard of Newark, NJ; Sherman Allen of Paterson, NJ; Clarence Daniels of Newport News, VA; a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

The viewing will be 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Cooke Bros. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Cooke Bros. Chapel.

The interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
