James F. Baldwin, “Jimbo” 68, of Naples, FL died February 26, 2019 at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born September 22, 1950 at Woman’s Medical Hospital in Philadelphia, PA a son of the late Richard E. and Elizabeth T. (Morrissey) Baldwin, Sr He had been a resident of Naples since 1999 coming from Philadelphia.
Jim graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in 1968. He then served in the U.S. Army as a medic from 1969 thru 1971. After being honorably discharged, he attended Gwynedd Mercy University in Montgomery County, PA where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
From 1974 thru 2013 he worked as an ICU and ER nurse. In Pennsylvania, he worked at Jefferson Hospital, University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University Hospital and the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital. After moving to Naples, he would spend the next 14 years working in the ER at Naples Community Hospital retiring in 2013.
He was a beloved father, loyal brother, irreplaceable friend, wonderful uncle, doggy grandfather, and much more. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan especially the Eagles and Phillies. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed kayaking, hiking, tennis, snow skiing and recreational camping.
He loved photography, dogs (especially Jackson, his schnauzers, and Redd), a good cup of coffee and a good cold beer. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kira L. Kornbluh and her husband, Jared of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, Charles J. Baldwin and his wife, Kathy of Coatesville, PA and Jeffrey R. Baldwin, Sr. and his wife, Monica of Roxboro, PA; and his sister, Patricia A. Baldwin of Philadelphia, PA.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lorrie Baldwin of Annapolis, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard E. Baldwin, Jr. who died in July of 2016. A memorial visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home 28300 Tamiami Tr.
So. , Bonita Springs, FL. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM.
The service will conclude with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Army. The family suggests that memorial donations in memory of Jimbo be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Rd. , Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to the American Lung Association 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
