James Franklin Blanton, 98 of Blanton Street, Lawndale passed away, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Hospice at Wendover. Born February 1, 1920 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late James Abraham Blanton and Dolly Jefferies Blanton. He was retired from Cleveland Mills and was a member of Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church.

Mr. Blanton served in the US Army during WWII. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church Fellowship Building.

A funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston Memorials may be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 or to Lawndale Missionary Methodist Church, PO Box 552, Lawndale NC 28090.
