Obituary for James Glavis Harper James Glavis Harper, age 78, of French Creek, died at his home on Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born November 20, 1939, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Martin Luther and Helen Virginia Morrison. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1982, to Lucille Kelly Harper who survives.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by one daughter Amy Harper of Weston; two sons: Thomas Harper of San Antonio, TX and Matt Harper of Galax, VA; two stepdaughters: Louise Howard of Buckhannon and Patricia Spears of Clarksburg; one stepson Kenneth Farrabee of Buckhannon; six grandchildren; one brother Darrell Harper of Kent, OH; two sisters: Carol Tucker of Gettysburg, PA and Joyce Ann Randolph of Weirton, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harper was a veteran serving in the US Navy on the USS Brownson DD-868. He enjoyed old country gospel music and for the past nine years he and his wife went to Holbrook Nursing Home on Sundays to sing gospel music and have church service for the residents.
