Obituary for James Harold Anderson James “Jim” H. Anderson, 85, of Louisville, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital. Jim was born on January 9, 1933 in Jackson County to the late Ruby (Lutes) and Ralph Anderson. The funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, June 16 at 10 am with Revs.

Harold Bedu-Addo and Rick Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill/Acme Cemetery. Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.

An Odd Fellows Service will be conducted on Friday evening at 7:30 pm. Jim was married to the late Leta Wise Anderson, the mother of his children, in 1955 in Surprise, Indiana. Jim loved life; he was always a happy man.

If you asked how he was, his response would be “Super”. He was a member of Qodesh Family Church in Louisville. Jim was a retired electrician and was a 35 year member of Local 481 IBEW.

He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren to be electricians. Jim also loved to be with his family. They had many family dinners.

He is so very proud of all his children. He also loved to go bowling and watch NASCAR racing. Jim served in the Navy from 1952-1956.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Louisville, KY since 1985. He was a member of the Shriners. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias Brownstown since 1956.

Jim was a past Master in the Brownstown Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his children: Roy (Cheryl) Anderson, Janet (Rob) Hamblen, Robert (Sally) Anderson and Judy (Dave) Elliot; nine grandchildren, Angie (Bryan) Ramsey, Chris (Heather) Hamblen, Andy (Michelle) Anderson, Kelly (Michael) Pumphrey, Drew Burns, Elizabeth “Liz” Elliot, Jacob Elliot, Nicholas Anderson and Abigail Anderson ; five great grandchildren; sisters, Dorthy Crouch, Clara Claycamp, and Carol Gray Nicholson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Jack (Phyllis) Anderson; and sisters, Emma (Dick) Sorley and Donna (Jack) Heiman.

The family asks that memorials be designated to the Odd Fellows Lodge in Louisville, KY and Qodesh Family Church, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
