James J. Kenny, 87, of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born in Jersey City,to the late James A. and Ellen (Reynolds) Kenny, he resided in Linden since 1964. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was awarded with Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Medal.

James was a member of the 8th Ward Democratic Club, 8th Ward Committee Person 1st District and was a Commissioner of the City of Linden Board of Health. He was a retired truck driver for Sears & Roebuck in Elizabeth for 33 years. He was also employed by the Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority, retiring in 1995.

Mr. Kenny loved spending time with his family cooking, singing along with Frank Sinatra. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan. Mr. Kenny was the beloved husband for 62 years of Helen R. (Czarny) Kenny, devoted father of Joann Kenny Unkert and her husband Paul, and Robert Kenny, cherished grandfather of Lauren.

Visiting Sunday 5:00-9:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, November 12, 2018 9:00 am at the Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. St. Georges Avenue, Linden, N.J. 07036. Funeral mass St. Elizabeth RC Church, Linden 10:00 am.
