Gloria E. (Diaz) Housel, 79, of Garwood, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2018 at Father Hudson House, Elizabeth. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, to the late Alfonso and Victoria Diaz, she came to the U.S. and Elizabeth in 1959. She then married Warren J. Housel in 1961 and resided in Roselle for 40 years, where she raised her family.

While in Roselle, she was very active with Roselle Catholic High School. Gloria was also active with St. Michael’s RC Church in Elizabeth. Her favorite past time was cooking Spanish food for her family, playing bingo and going to the casinos.

Gloria was an owner of the Barbara Uni Hair Salon in Union. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren J. Housel, devoted mother of James and his wife Susan, Richard, and Michael and his wife Jennifer. Loving sister of Carmen, Priscilla, Raquel, Norma, Juanita, Pedro, Antonio, Luis, and the late Helene.

Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Heather and Krystina. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting Sunday, 4:00-8:00 pm.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, December 17, 2018, 9:00 am from Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. St. Georges Avenue, Linden, N.J. 07036. Funeral mass St. Anne RC Church, Garwood 10:00 am. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Rd. , Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 would be appreciated.
