OBITUARY James “Jim” Salt August 30, 1940 – November 3, 2018 James “Jim” Salt, 78 of St. James, North Carolina, and formerly of Webster, New York, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. Jim was born August 30, 1940 in Rochester, New York to the late Frederick and Stella Salt. He had retired from Eastman Kodak where had worked for 33 years.

Jim had been a member of the Point Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Ontario Golf Club. Following retirement, he moved to St. James and was a member of the St. James Men’s Golf Association. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jean Salt; sister-in-law Sally Salt of Ft.

Collins, Colorado, sister-in-law Verna Gartz and husband Ken of Spencerport, New York; a niece Liz Shrum; three nephews, Greg Kenna, Rob Kenna, and Jon Salt; his beloved cat Pepper; step-sister, Cathy Kavanaugh; and many cousins. Jim was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Salt and a sister Suzanne Salt. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport.

Entombment will follow at Cape Fear Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy lane, Bolivia, NC 28461 or to SOAR (Southport / Oak Island Animal Rescue) 3376 St. Charles Place, Southport, NC 28461.
