James “Jim” T. Merlo, 70, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. A graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1967, he was a resident of Norton for 45 years. Jim retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber after 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Barberton Sokol and the Hunky Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Nettie Merlo and sister, Patricia Antal. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Debi; son, Jimmy (Erica) Merlo; daughter, Jaime Merlo; grandchildren, Landon, Noah and Alexis; his Wing Warehouse family; along with other relatives and great friends.

Jim’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave, Barberton. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 16th at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth St. N.W., Barberton 44203. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the American Lung Association or St. Augustine Catholic Church.
