James “Jimmy” Crowder, age 75, of Sweetwater, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the family home. He was a well-known logger and mechanic. He was a member of Out Post Mission Church in Sweetwater and served on the Christianburg Volunteer Fire Department board.

Preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Edna Crowder, brother: Roy Crowder, daughter: Tammy Crowder Burleson. Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Gail Crowder, daughter: Tracy Crowder Schmitt, grandson: Nick Burleson, brother: Dennis Crowder, godson: Jamie Davenport, great-granddaughter: Kareena Burleson, mother-in-law: Bessie Franks, all of Sweetwater, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev.

Terry Franks and Rev. Blanch Settles officiating. Interment 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the Christianburg Cemetery.
