JAMES L. McCABE September 3, 1937 – December 22, 2018 James L. McCabe, 81, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. James was born September 3, 1937 in Springfield, Illinois to James Patrick and Rose (nee Metzger) McCabe. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his Master’s degree from Keller Graduate School of Management.

James had a long and varied carreer with Ocean Spray Corporation, from working in the cranberry industry in Washington State then moving to Vero Beach in 1994 to serve as General Manager and oversee the Ocean Spray operations on the Treasure Coast. Born: September 3, 1937 Place of Birth: Springfield, IL Death: December 22, 2018 Place of Death: Vero Beach, FL James was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and the Knights of Columbus where he was active in the Third Degree. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed a round of golf.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Ann McCabe of Vero Beach; sons Joe McCabe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John McCabe of West Palm Beach, Florida and Jim McCabe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter Marianne (Douglas) Anderson of Arlington Heights, Illinois; sister Marilyn Farrelly of Apple Valley, California; and ten grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, and Michael Anderson, Anne, Chloe, and Ella McCabe, Caitlin, Corrine, Andrew, and Daniel McCabe. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 7550 26th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32966. The family will receive friends 5 – 7 PM on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 29, 2018 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
